GRC - 15 Years Old and "In the News"
Have you seen Gifted Resource Council in the news lately? Yes! We've been making lots of news!

Perhaps you saw GRC on Channel 5's educational feature with Sharon Stevens talking about "gifted kids at Washington University" for our Academic Challenge Cup in early March. Or maybe you saw us that same week on Channel 2 with Donn Johnson.

There was a wonderful feature in the St. Louis Post Dispatch written by Lorraine Kee about several students who will be venturing to Ecuador with GRC's Amazon Rainforest Student Research Project. The same topic was also covered in the Suburban Journal.

Hopefully you saw the photo of an ACC judge measuring the height of the gondola lifted by helium balloons toward the goal of 15 inches (in honor of GRC's 15 year anniversary) in the Metro section of the Post. Or the most recent photo in the West Post section under the banner "Meeting the Challenge." Yes, that was Gifted Resource Council, too!

Are all these pieces of publicity because GRC is turning 15 years old in 1998? Perhaps, but not really...

We are truly excited and wish to celebrate the marvelous happening of Gifted Resource Council, a small, not-for-profit organization with the mission of helping bright and talented children achieve their potential, reaching the milestone of 15 years of growth.

But that's not what all the media attention is about. The focus is on children, bright children, and Gifted Resource Council in its efforts to work with and for them, so that they might reach for the stars, fulfill their dreams and improve life for all of us as citizens of this world. (Whether we live in St. Louis or Ecuador.)

And so we continue to do what we do best. GRC daily strives to provide excellent programs for talented children from all walks of life. We center our activities around kids and plan to do the same for the next fifteen years and beyond.

Maybe you'll see us in the news...celebrating bright children, their activities and their potential. We hope so!
